Ex-Uber exec charged with theft of Google trade secrets

Anthony Levandowski, a former Uber exec who oversaw its self-driving efforts, was charged by federal prosecutors on Tuesday with 33 counts of theft and attempted theft of trade secrets from his former employer, Google. He self-surrendered to law enforcement following the indictment, according to a law enforcement official.

1 dead, 5 hurt in NYC construction site collapse

A construction worker was killed and five were injured when the third story of a building pancaked down onto workers at a Bronx construction site around noon on Tuesday. Construction was underway at a four-story apartment being built at East 208th Street near Steuben Avenue in Norwood when one of the floors collapsed onto six workers below.

80 people indicted in massive internet fraud case

Federal investigators are searching for suspects in an internet fraud case that nearly anyone who’s received a suspicious e-mail from Nigeria will recognize. At least 11 were arrested Thursday in Southern California. The 80 suspects are charged with money laundering, fraud and identity theft. Prosecutors say millions of dollars were stolen from unsuspecting people online.
