Hotel evacuated, power outages after manhole fires in NYC

Manhole fires in Brooklyn and Queens …. Some buildings were evacuated, including a hotel.
In Sunset Park, Brooklyn, the guests of the Insignia hotel were outside in the rain. “We heard fire alarms, we saw the firemen outside, they weren’t really doing anything until a few hours later when the carbon monoxide started coming in and then they started to evacuate us,”
In Queens, there were explosions on 32nd Avenue in East Elmhurst – Con Ed said a transformer fire led to a manhole fire around 9 p.m. Wednesday….

Trump rally highlights “most visible dividing line” in American politics

President Trump is firing up his base of supporters by once again slamming the female congresswomen known as “the Squad.” This time, mentioning them by name. It happened during a rally held Wednesday night in Greenville, North Carolina. The crowd started chanting “send her back” about Rep. Ilhan Omar who was born in Somalia but is a U.S. citizen.

Bald eagle with amputated wing stolen

NJ. The search is on for a missing bald eagle that was stolen from Quogue Wildlife Refuge this week. The organization said their resident eagle, Sam, was stolen overnight between Monday and Tuesday and he cannot survive without their care. Video showed someone with what appeared to be a bag at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, before driving away from the refuge. Police said the thief drove over LIRR tracks that have a license plate reader.
