Gov. Cuomo recommends legalizing recreational marijuana ahead of primary

New York’s primaries for the U.S. House and Senate are just one week away, while New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will face off against actress Cynthia Nixon in September. Politico New York’s Laura Nahmias spoke to Elaine Quijano on CBSN’s “Red & Blue” about next week’s races to watch, and how Cuomo recently signaled he would support legalized marijuana less than a year after calling marijuana a “gateway drug.”

Michael Gerard Grimm – Grimm represented New York’s 13th congressional district during his first term, after which he represented New York’s 11th congressional district. Both districts consisted of Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn. Grimm is a member of the Republican Party, and during his time in office was the only Republican to represent a significant portion of New York City. He is a former FBI agent, businessman, convicted felon, attorney, and U.S. Marine, having served in the Persian Gulf War.
