Hearing on 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

9/11 VICTIMS IN SPOTLIGHT: The House Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on efforts to reauthorize the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
In February, the Special Master of the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund announced that due to a funding shortfall, the program would be forced to cut awards to 9/11 first responders, survivors, and victims’ families by 50-70%. The fund will expire in 2020…
The Never Forget the Heroes Act will retroactively fix the shortfall, making those who received reduced benefits whole, and fully fund and extend the program until 2090, matching the sunset of the World Trade Center Health Program.
