Happening now: Fed Chair Powell is back on Capitol Hill for a second day of testimony before the House Budget Committee. Powell testified yesterday before the Joint Economic Committee that the Fed is on pause for now, saying the central bank sees the current level on its benchmark interest rate as likely to remain “appropriate” as long as economic growth continues at a moderate rate, as officials expect.
