New York – Here are the latest COVID-19 updates:

🔹There are 4,152 confirmed cases in New York State. 2,469 are in New York City.
🔹Among these are two of my colleagues in government, NY State Assembly Assembly Member Kimberly Jean-Pierre and New York City Council Member Inez Barron. I wish you both a speedy recovery.
🔹Per Governor Andrew Cuomo, banks will waive mortgage payments for 90 days and suspend foreclosures due to COVID-19. Eligibility is based on financial hardship. Late payment fees and ATM overdrafts are also suspended during this time.‬
🔹All Public New York City Department of Education schools are closed. Schools will remain closed until at least ‪Monday, April 20.‬
🔹New York City Department of Education Chancellor Carranza is asking for volunteers for the city’s Regional Enrichment Center to care for the children of NYC’s first responders, health care workers and transit workers. Fill out an application here: ‪http://on.nyc.gov/33tA4Dg‬.

🔹 Grab-and-go meals are available for all students at schools this week to be taken home, available for pick up ‪from 7:30AM-1:30PM‬ outside main entrances of every school buildling.
🔹 Remote learning for students will begin ‪Monday, March 23.‬ The NYC Department of Education will provide computers and internet access to every student who needs it. Call ‪(718) 935-5100‬ (press 5) or visit ‪www.coronavirus.schools.nyc/remotelearningdevices‬ to request a device.
🔹 Grocery stores offering seniors-only early shopping at Stop and Shop, Foodtown and Dollar General.
🔹 ALL NYC senior centers will be used as food distributions centers for older New Yorkers.
🔹 Governor Cuomo requires businesses that are staying open to not allow more than 25% of their workforce to be on-site. Essential services are exempt.
🔹 NY, PA, CT & NJ will temporarily close all indoor portions of: retail shopping malls, amusement parks and bowling alleys ‪at 8PM‬.
🔹 All gyms, casinos, theaters, museums, cultural centers, night clubs and concert venues are closed.
🔹 All bars and restaurants will only provide take out and delivery services.
🔹 The US Census Bureau has suspended all 2020 Census field operations ‪through April 1.‬
🔹 The NYSE will temporarily close the trading floor and move to all electronic trading ‪beginning Monday, March 23.‬
🔹 An Amazon worker in Queens has tested positive for coronavirus.
🔹 A Corrections officer and inmate at Rikers Island have tested positive for Coronavirus. The Legal Aid Society is requesting that some inmates be released to help stop the spread of the virus.
🔹 The city’s first drive-thru testing site opens on Staten Island today. Testing is by appointment only. If you have symptoms and want an appointment, call New York State Department of Health at ‪(888)364-3065‬.
🔹 Governor Cuomo signed the guarantee paid leave bill into law for NYers under mandatory or precautionary quarantine.
🔹 A $100 billion federal relief bill has been signed into law that ensures free testing for every American, regarldess of health insurance.
🔹 The President is sending the USNS Comfort, a navy hospital ship, to NY Harbor to be used to treat non-coronavirus patients to prevent crowding at city hospitals.
🔹 The US-Canada border has been closed to non-essential traffic.
🔹 Telehealth services will be covered for those on Medicare. Call ‪(800) 633-4227‬ or your doctor for more info. State Medicaid programs can now cover telehealth services without federal approval.
🔹 If you need help getting medical care, call ‪311‬. NYC will provide care regardless of immigration status or abilty to pay.
🔹 Mount Sinai Downtown, Northwell Health and Montefiore have placed limitations on patient visits.
🔹 NYC Mayor’s Office asks NYS-certified healthcare workers to join NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Medical Reserve Corps. Register: ‪nyc.gov/helpnownyc‬.
🔹 MTA will no longer schedule shared rides for Access-A-Ride. Personal care attendants and approved guests are permitted.
🔹 Metropolitan Transit Authority remains open. SI Ferry continues to operate. NYC alternate side parking rules are suspended until at least ‪next Tuesday, March 24.‬ Parking meters sill remain in effect.
