Let’s get to work. January 19th. Columbus Circle.
Thursday night, I’ll join New Yorkers from all walks of life at Trump International Hotel and Tower to begin the work of protecting our city’s values. Our next president and his administration need to hear from all New Yorkers before he takes office.
They need to hear that neighborhood policing has made our city safer and can make our country safer. They need to remember that millions of Americans and New Yorkers’ very lives rely on the Affordable Care Act. They need to remember that women deserve our respect and respect means the right to make their own healthcare decisions and access to affordable, high quality service providers like Planned Parenthood.
They need to remember that New York learned first hand, after Hurricane Sandy, that Climate Change is real and that our city proves every day that immigrants are part of what makes America great. They need to remember our Muslim neighbors deserve to be treated with respect.
It won’t be easy. But as Abraham Lincoln once said in this very city, let us have faith that RIGHT makes MIGHT. This is New York. Nothing about who we are changed on Election Day.
Let’s get to work. January 19th. Columbus Circle. Be there for the beginning of 100 days of action to protect the values of our next president’s hometown.
