Kimberly Potter Receives Sentence For Daunte Wright’s Death

Former Minnesota police officer Kimberly Potter received a two-year sentence Friday after she was convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old whom Potter says she accidentally shot after mistaking her gun for a taser.
Potter’s sentence is significantly shorter than both the maximum 15-year sentence for first-degree manslaughter in Minnesota and the roughly seven-year term dictated by the state’s sentencing guidelines, and it’s shorter than the 57-month sentence that a Minneapolis police officer faced for second-degree manslaughter last year. more on FORBES >>>
