A wine bar in Queens is adding Ukrainian items to its menu in hopes of raising money for the people there.
In addition to beer, the bar intends to sell traditional Ukrainian honey cakes. People make two or three purchases at a time, knowing that this is how they help the people who are suffering from the war in Ukraine.
Ali and Olga are from Eastern Europe, Ali grew up in Kiev, Olga is from Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). They have an 18-year-old daughter. Olga says they came from one country (the USSR). And although they are now two different countries separated by borders (Russia and Ukraine), she and her husband are together against violence.
