September 8 2020 – ROCHESTER, New York: Protesters, earlier today, painted “Black Lives Matter” on the street where Daniel Prude was arrested last March. Hundreds marched to Public Safety Building for a sit in, where they painted MURDERERS outside of Rochester Police Headquarters, the site of major confrontations and violence between police and protesters over the weekend. Later the group painted RESIGN outside City Hall and posted fliers saying “Justice For Daniel Prude” . Today the Rochester police chief retired, w/pension. Protesters are voicing that they are not not satisfied; they continue to demand the resignation of Mayor Warren & the arrest of officers involved in the death of Daniel Prude
In March 2020, Daniel Prude was killed after being physically restrained by Rochester, New York, police officers. Prude had been running naked in the city’s streets. The officers put a spit hood over his head and held his face against the pavement for two minutes. Prude received CPR on the scene and later died of complications from asphyxia after being taken off life support.
