Trump won two-thirds lawsuits heard in court; Texas working on bill to stop big tech censorship
Trump and the Republicans prevailed in a total of 15 cases, out of the 22 election lawsuits heard thus far, which were decided on the merits by the courts. A total of 81 cases have been filed, of which 11 were withdrawn or consolidated and 23 were dismissed for lack of standing or other reasons. Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted a statement on Feb. 7 saying: “We are working with Sen. Hughes on legislation to prevent social media providers like Facebook & Twitter from cancelling conservative speech.” Hao Wang, an expert in international politics and economics, said that while social media platforms blocked accounts of former President Trump and Trump supporters during the U.S. election, they ignored the large number of fake accounts and pornographic, violent and criminal content that proliferated on the Internet.
