#SOSCuba Protesters March through NYC

July 17, 2021 – MANHATTAN, New York: The group, SOS Cuba, rallied in Times Square again today before marching through the rain to Union Square. The group of about 100 was chanting “Freedom for Cuba” as they marched down Broadway. The protestors stopped in several intersections along the way to dance in the rain and sing the Cuban National Anthem. Several dozen demonstrators rallied again in Union Square after the march. Several people spoke, one man began to cry as he spoke in Spanish. One speaker spit after she named the former president, Fidel Castro. The crowd held flags and signs, reading “Cuba Libre” and chanting “Free Cuba.” One protester said “it is our right to amplify the voice of the Cuban people.”
