Residents say homeless taking over NYCHA building

They’re taking food deliveries and eating them, sleeping in stairwells and arguing with cleaning crews. Residents who live in a Bronx NYCHA apartment building say homeless people have taken over since the pandemic started.
Some residents at St. Mary’s Park Houses say they’re now installing their own motion detection cameras outside their doors to know what they’re getting into before stepping into the hallway. In one case over the past few weeks, they captured a man taking someone else’s food delivery, eating it in the hallway and then lighting up a cigarette. In another, they captured video of what appears to be two homeless people arguing with a cleaning woman. They were angry she woke them up as they were sleeping in the stairwell.
