The department’s nonsupervisory patrol officers are represented by the larger Police Benevolent Association. The organization is popularly known for their Twitter account, which often criticizes Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio, unfavored Commissioners, and other politicians, and is characterized by the Associated Press as a partisan organization.
