Will Smith won Best Actor for King Richard at the Oscars just moments after he stormed the stage to slap Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. Smith then apologised, but he did not directly reference the slap, Rock or his comments. “I want to apologise to the Academy; I want to apologise to all my fellow nominees,” he said. “This identity politics, this political correctness, is supposed to be all about being more polite – kinder,” Mr Bolt said. “Supposedly – I actually think it’s more a power game. “This woke world is getting wilder and nastier.”
