On November 6, 2022, Griffin was suspended from Twitter for impersonating Elon Musk. Griffin used his profile photo and changed her name on the service, tweeting under his name imploring people to vote for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections and encouraging them to retweet and spread her post. She also posted that she, posing as Musk, had decided to vote blue to support women’s rights. On the next day, Griffin posted on her deceased mother’s Twitter account, calling Musk an “asshole”. She further challenged the site’s policy that she had used her Twitter profile for impersonation.
Musk tweeted sardonicly in reply to another tweet, “Actually she was suspended for impersonating a comedian.
