The ABC decided to broadcast the National Press Club instead of showing the “biggest media story in the world this week” of Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid announcement, says Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton. “I challenge any journalist to form the argument that him running for president was not newsworthy,” he said. “That’s why it was taken live by the BBC, Sky UK, Bloomberg and yes even CNN. “What were they thinking? If we don’t broadcast it, it never happened?”
