NEW YORK, NY — Alina Bonsell, Republican candidate for New York State Senate District 28, will hold a campaign fundraiser on Tuesday, June 30, at Bobby Van’s in Midtown Manhattan, marking both her birthday and an important milestone for her campaign.
The event, hosted with Julianne Michelle, is scheduled from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bobby Van’s, located at 131 East 54th Street, New York, NY 10022. According to the campaign announcement, any contribution will serve as an RSVP. Contributions up to $1,050 help the campaign pursue New York State matching funds.
Bonsell’s campaign says the evening is more than a birthday celebration. It is also a celebration of the campaign officially qualifying for New York State matching funds — a development the campaign presents as proof that the race is becoming serious and competitive.
“We are on the map, we are equipped to compete, and this is a real race,” Bonsell said in the campaign announcement. She described the effort as a chance to flip District 28 after 24 years and to give Manhattan’s East Side what she calls a real, authentic challenger with a unifying message across party lines.
District 28 includes key parts of Manhattan’s East Side and is currently represented by Democratic State Senator Liz Krueger, who was first elected to the New York State Senate in 2002. Bonsell’s campaign is positioning itself around public safety, affordability, opposition to radical city policies, and a neighborhood-centered message under the slogan: “Elect Your Neighbor.”
For supporters, the campaign says Tuesday night’s ticket is more than a seat at the table — it is a statement of political support. The event is expected to bring together donors, activists, neighborhood residents, and campaign allies as Bonsell works to build momentum ahead of the 2026 State Senate election cycle.
