Pro-Israel Demonstrators Rally in Manhattan Against Mamdani and Rising Antisemitism

Manhattan, New York — May 26, 2026. A large pro-Israel rally was held in Manhattan as demonstrators gathered to protest against Mayor Mamdani and what speakers described as antisemitic policies, dangerous rhetoric, and insufficient protection for New York City’s Jewish community.

The demonstration brought together Jewish New Yorkers, allies, Republicans, Democrats, Christians, Muslims, and people from different racial and religious backgrounds. Speakers framed the rally as a civic response to antisemitism, political intimidation, and concerns over the future direction of New York City.

Participants carried American and Israeli flags and chanted slogans including “USA! USA!”, “Hey, hey, ho, ho — Zoran’s got to go”, and “From the River to the Sea, New York City Will Be Free.”

Rally Speakers Call for Unity Against Antisemitism

One of the speakers, James Maslo, spoke about his family’s deep roots in New York City and described his grandfather, Captain Robert Maslo, as a Jewish American pilot who helped protect both the city and the country.

Maslo said New York has long been home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world outside of Israel. He argued that Jewish New Yorkers are now facing growing concerns over antisemitism, public safety, and political leadership.

“We are not here because we hate anybody. We are here because we love this city.”

Maslo told the crowd that antisemitism should not be treated only as a Jewish issue.

“Antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem. It is a human problem. And silence from those in power is not neutrality. It’s permission.”

Simon Deng Warns Against Historical Repetition

Simon Deng, speaking as a Christian and a friend of the Jewish community, warned that anti-Jewish hatred has appeared in different historical forms across the world and must not be tolerated in New York City.

Deng referred to the persecution of Jewish communities in North Africa and Europe and said that today’s New Yorkers must not remain silent when Jewish residents are targeted or intimidated.

“We are here together saying loudly, we are not going to stand by that,” Deng told the crowd.

Concerns Over Jewish Safety in New York City

Another speaker criticized Mamdani for allegedly weakening the city’s ability to define and confront antisemitism. She also spoke about her family’s Holocaust history and said Jewish families in New York should not have to fear for the safety of synagogues, Jewish schools, or children.

Speakers repeatedly said the rally was not only about one political figure, but about the broader question of whether New York City will remain safe and welcoming for Jewish residents and religious communities.

“New York City is our city. New York City is the most Jewish city outside of Israel in the entire world, and we are here to stay. We are not going anywhere.”
